Literacy Goals
- Persuasive Writing focus to extend students and support those who are doing NAPLAN. With the help of Katherine, form a unit of work that is based upon exploring prior knowledge and building new knowledge through meaningful tasks and self assessment criterias to help intrinsically motivate students.
-Have more PD on small guided reading and assessment of reading levels/abilities, with the help of teachers and coaches withing the school and outside PD opportunities.
-Introduce more individualised learning tasks and assessment pieces for students to become more motivated in Literacy. This involves creating choice for students.
-Have learning intentions for classes so that students are aware of their own learning expectations.
Numeracy Goals
-To improve student results in Space/Shape as this is an area that the NAPLAN tests focus on.
-To continue to work on the layout/structure of an everyday maths lesson, to try and see if a Maths lesson runs effectively with all 40 students at once.
I.C.T goal- Ultranet-using it everyday and for students to contribute to it on a regular basis. Students practising loggin on to get used to the idea of the Ultranet. Using blogs to write about weekend adventures on a Monday to get studens used to the idea of the Ultranet.
- Using the IWB to engage more students. Whole group and small group activities in both Maths and English.
SRC - Ok doing it by myself, speak to Janene and Helen if needed. New, fresh ways to fundraise, celebrate student hardwork with socials, outings, organised sports at lunch, whats cooking, trivia.
